Keith & Jean Turner with Mary Stokes - Headline - ISBN 0-7472-2336-XA nice book full of tasty ideas for desserts. Although for some reasons best known to the publishers photos of the desserts are not with the recipe but elsewhere, albeit with the page number as part of the identifying caption below the picture.
Keith & Jean Turner started the pudding club to help create extra trade for their hotel business, the idea snowballed and became very successful. This book is the second one published containing over 100 recipes, may not be good for the waistline, but it is typically British and taste bud satisfying.
Our pick from its pages is appended below.
From page 24 Chocolate Bombe, a really rich and nice sweet, but you would have to break your diet to eat this dish.
From page 29 Gooseberry Fool, a very traditional British dessert.
From page 33 Tipsy Strawberries, as its name suggests a liberal amount of alcohol is needed for this dish. But its worth suffering this for the finished dish is fantastic.
From page 92 Raspberry Atholl Brose, as its name suggests a dish from Scotland and in keeping with tradition there is some whisky in this dish.
